Synthetic blue colour.

Function & characteristics:
Blue food colour. Very soluble in water.

Ice cream and a few other food products, but mostly in cosmetics.

Daily intake:
Up to 12.5 mg/kg body weight.

Side effects:
Side effects rarely occur in the concentrations used. Some allergic reactions have been reported.

Dietary restrictions:
None; E133 can be consumed by all religious groups, vegans and vegetarians.
