What is tapenade?

Tapenade is a dip with a base of olives originating from the South of France (Provence). Additional compounds include capers, anchovies, tuna and garlic. Both green and black olives can be used. Herbs, spices and salt are also sometimes added. Normally tapenade is eaten as an appetizer with bread.
