What is canola-oil?

Canola oil is the trademark for a Canadian type of rapeseed oil. Using traditional plant breeding techniques the fatty acid composition of the oil has been changed. It is thus rather different from rapeseed and rapeseed oil. It is widely used in the USA and Canada, but not in Europe.
