How can moulds be prevented from growing on food stored at home?

Most moulds require warm temperatures and high humidity to grow. A good way to prevent moulds is to store fresh food at low temperatures in a dry place. Fresh meat and vegetables should be stored in the refrigerator and eaten as soon as possible. Dry products such as rice; can be stored at room temperature in a dry place to prevent mould growth. Canned products do not require special storage conditions as the can prevents any mould spores from reaching the food.
