What is curcumin? Is it suitable for vegetarians?

Curcumin is a naturally occurring pigment that is a major active component of the spice turmeric (Curcuma longa), a mild aromatic stimulant used in the manufacture of curry powder, and it gives turmeric its yellow color.

Curcumin contains a mixture of powerful antioxidant phytonutrients known as curcuminoids, and has been described to have anti-inflammatory properties; it is also known to be good for the liver.

Considering the fact that it is of plant origin, it is suitable for vegetarians.
