Synthetic non-azo dye.

Function & characteristics:
Yellow food colour. Very soluble in water.

Many different products.

Daily intake:
Up to 10 mg/kg body weight.

Side effects:
There are no side effects known in the concentrations used, although E104 may act as a histamine liberator.

Dietary restrictions:
None; E104 can be consumed by all religious groups, vegans and vegetarians.
